Water for Water

At The Laundry Lady, we are aware that keeping our team hydrated will aid them to perform at their very best throughout the work day.

As a result, we decided to invest in watercoolers from AquAid.

Our unique relationship with AquAid has also given our company the opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves, because with each purchase an automatic donation is made to The Africa Trust.

These funds are used to build ‘Elephant Pumps’ - a modified version of an age old Chinese rope pulley system. One such pump is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf and it will be a much needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many.

To date AquAid have built over 8,000 such Elephant Pumps across parts of Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe; and have donated in excess of £18 million to charity.

The Laundry Lady is proud to purchase only sustainable toilet paper from Who Gives a Crap, a company who use 50% of their profit for projects helping communities around the world.

A toilet could make all the difference, but billions of people worldwide still live without one. Without a loo, waste ends up in local waterways – the same place people collect water for drinking, cleaning and bathing. That’s why toilets are an integral part of a bigger health initiative called WASH, which stands for water, sanitation and hygiene. Together, these three elements strengthen communities and save millions of lives.

You empower us to do good

With your support, AVG is able to donate a portion of our profits to charities and causes we believe in. You’re helping us make both the online and offline world a better place for everyone.

Here’s how you’re helping us drive change

Funding vaccine initiatives In 2020, we donated $25 million to support global initiatives focused on COVID-19 testing, treatment, and vaccines. AVG also joined the COVID-Zero Coalition coordinated by Wellcome, one of the world’s leading independent health research foundation.

Working with communities As members of the Avast family, your support lets us fund the Avast Foundation, which works in partnership with communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), charities, and educational institutions. They, in turn, tackle issues of digital exclusion, and champion digital citizenship and civic participation

Keeping our users safe In 2021, we blocked an average of over 1.5 billion attacks each month. We’re able to do this because users like you help us find and block emerging malware threats before they cause problems.
